Hoist weeks at SLK

The SLK Carry product family

Characteristics

Dieter Fürst
CAD designer

I have been a mechanical engineer and mechanical engineer since 2007 as a product developer in the field of aids / medical devices and have already developed patient hoists and care beds for several manufacturers until they are ready for the market.

Working as a designer in automotive production automation and two years of work for a medical device drive manufacturer rounded off my experience until

I came to SLK in 2016.

Here is the right ground for development work and innovations. With our team we have already developed some successful hoist models and it is a pleasure to expand our hoist portfolio step by step.

WHAT ONLY DID WE THOUGHT?

Here are a few USPs from our SLK Carry product family!

1. CENTERING THE STAND MAST

Masts on patient hoists should often be designed to be foldable so that the product can be easily transported. At the same time, the mast and chassis should be easily separable without tools. The requirement during use, on the other hand, is a connection between the two parts that is as rigid as possible. To do this, we came up with a locking system for the stand mast with a centering piece. This means that the stationary mast is attached to the chassis without play. We have protected this invention with a German utility model.

2. MAXIMUM LOAD 185 KG

The fact that people are getting heavier and heavier is also evident in everyday care. That is why we have developed the SLK Carry product family so that we can handle the high maximum load of 185 kg. (407 LBS)

This covers the patient weights to over 90%.

Except for a real heavy load supply, a lifter does not have to be purchased.

3. ENORMOUS HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

The achievable lifting height is the "gold" of the patient hoist.
It often decides whether a lift task can be carried out successfully.

That is why we have equipped our universal hoists of the Carry product family with the highest lifting height compared to our competitors.

However, this was only made possible by the centering piece described under point 1.

4. SOFT-START AND SOFT-STOP

Patient hoists should be as light as possible and at the same time as stable as possible. If the drive is switched on suddenly, vibrations can occur in the system that unsettle the patient.
That is why we use modern drive systems at SLK, the drives of which are not simply switched on but gently accelerated and just as gently stopped again.

5. OTHER PRODUCT FEATURES

• Teflon disc between hoist and Spreader-bar and lifting arm
• Spring lock for the slings on all Spreader-bars
• Tool-free assembly
• Different models for every customer requirement, e.g. deep

   Chassis for scissor beds available
• attractive color scheme
• high modularity therefore low spare parts inventory necessary
• Strong service if something doesn't work
