New insights in decubitus prophylaxis, decubitus therapy and pain therapy as well as the experience we gather together with careworkers, patients and suppliers enable us to continuously develop and refine our products to meet the highest standards of quality while at the same time being user friendly and cost effective.

Since anti-decubitus-systems are often reused, it is essential to reinstall the systems in an absolutely hygienically clean condition for subsequent patients.

As a Europe-wide provider of anti-decubitus systems, SLK Vertriebs GmbH has developed and implemented recognized standards of chemically and thermically purifying anti-decubitus systems (except for foam rubber).

The chemical and thermal purification is required, since in many instances there is microbial contamination of the systems due to a discharge of wound exudates (exudates: product or fluid discharged from a wound due to an internal inflammatory process).

In our distribution and hygiene center in Dortmund we offer hygienic purification treatments for all anti-decubitus systems (except for foam rubber):

The overlay and the cover are chemically washed at 60°C (140°F) with a process called Ottalin-Peracet-Process by the >Robert-Koch-Institut< (process with a percompound as active substance), the detergent used being "Derval Solo" and the disinfectant "Ottalin Peracet".

The treatment process for the reuse of the anti-decubitus systems is conducted in specially designed rooms (separated in 'clean'/'not clean').

We recommend having SLK perform the safety testing on medical devices of the bedding systems here on our premises. The safety testing will be conducted in accordance with § 6 of the MPBetreibV (Medical Devices Operator Ordinance) and guarantees the electrical safety and overall function of our bedding systems when being reinstalled and reused.

Within the framework of our continued education programs, SLK Vertriebs GmbH offers training courses free-of-charge. The daily work with patients should be facilitated based on current medical and legal policies.

For these courses, we have designed educational facilities in Dortmund and Berlin. Of course, all SLK products may be more closely examined and tested here at our showrooms.
